SHYE's Fabulous SA2 (2017) Scores! 96% For Primary 4 English! (14/14 34/36 13/14)

Immensely pleased with SHYE's excellent results for SA2 (2017)! :) :) :)

The pictures speak for themselves.

He scored FULL MARKS for Booklet A - 14/14!
He scored close to full marks for Booklet B - 34/36!
The overall score for his English Paper 2 was 48/50 (which is 96%)!

I believe that he told me that he was top in class for English Language!

I trust that he will continue to do well this year -- Primary 5 (2018).

6/7 38/42 41/45 IB Score for Year-End Examination 2017

Here's another happy news to share! :)

I received this text last year on Tuesday, 24 October 2017, after TWJH's Year-End IB Examination.

He did 'Romeo and Juliet' for Year 4. Of course, there were other things that we covered as well but the main text was 'Romeo and Juliet'.

He scored mainly 6s and 7s (out of 7). The lowest grade was for Chinese. If I recall correctly, he scored 5 out of 7 for Chinese. He scored 6/7 for English which is excellent! :) I'm sure he can get that 7 out of 7 for English if he works just that bit harder!

I'm so proud of TWJH!! I've seen him grow up and I feel as much pride as his mother because he has done so well! :)

86% For Primary 5 English Language, SA2 (2017)

I have to be more prompt with my congratulatory posts! :)

Here's another (belated) announcement to make!

Last year, CXH performed very well for her Primary 5 Year-End Examination (SA2, 2017). I was and still am tremendously proud of her efforts! Bravo and Kudos!

She has been with me since Primary 2 and I am overjoyed that because I have built a strong foundation for her with reference to English Language, she is doing well for Primary 6 English this year (2018).

*claps* *beams* *thumbs up*

I look forward to her acing the PSLE! :)

Reminiscing the good ol'days in Hwa Chong Junior College HCJC

Prom Night Photograph. Hwa Chong Junior College, Year WXYZ.

Hwa Chong JC is now HCI, am I right?

Happy, Blessed 2018 everyone! :) Sincere Best Wishes and Much Love to all.
I was digging around and clearing this and that and sorting this and that when I chanced upon an old photograph taken during Prom Night way back (not disclosing when... haha).
Memories... brings back memories...

I do miss those good old days without much care in the world. Oh man, studying for the A levels was extremely stressful and all that but those good old days of hanging around the same old classmates and the routine of school and such... makes me go kind of teary.

Miss them when you don't have them, I guess?

It's a different season of life for me and many of my peers now - chasing after the kids, worrying about homework and grades, attending PTM, rushing the kids off to school, picking them up, preparing their meals, zooming off for work...

It's a different kind of stress and a different kind of life this season...

Carpe Diem, everyone! :)

Celebrate Every Day!

ps: I wonder if I can still fit into That Dress. I still have it somewhere, by the way! :)

Fake Miffy Correction Tape versus 'cheapo' disposable chopsticks! TWJH Strikes Again!

The infamous TWJH has struck yet again! You may remember this terrific kid!
He's the one who wrote: MURDER begins at home!

Yes, TWJH, again!

Sometime back, TWJH went on a student immersion programme. I did not see him for a week or two. When we resumed our usual sessions, he threw this FAKE MIFFY CORRECTION TAPE at me and said, "Take it!"

Clueless, I replied, "Huh?!"

He continued nonchalantly, "MUMMY SAYS THAT I HAVE TO GET EACH OF MY TUTORS A GIFT FROM MY TRIP TO CHINA. I SPENT ALL MY MONEY ON MYSELF AND SO, I CAN'T BUY ANYTHING FOR ANYONE! I GOT THIS FROM THE ARCADE! REDEEMED THIS! IT'S YOUR SOUVENIR!"

*rolls eyes multiple times*

I handed it back and told him to use it. After all, it's correction tape! It's useful!

"IT'S PINK!!" he exclaimed, horrified beyond horrified, and tosses the FAKE MIFFY CORRECTION TAPE back at me.

"BE GRATEFUL!" he educates. "I GOT MY CHINESE TUTOR CHOPSTICKS! YOU KNOW, THOSE WOODEN DISPOSABLE CHOPSTICKS FROM THE FOOD COURTS? I GAVE HER A PAIR OF DISPOSABLE CHOPSTICKS!"

*face palm* *faints*

This boy has to be Educated in the Etiquette of Gift-Giving
Erm, wooden disposable chopsticks (really) do not make very good presents. I guess I should give thanks for FAKE MIFFY?

A* for Engllish!! (EOY / SA2, 2017) [Primary 5 Student] & Mother's Testimonial :)

What awesome possum news this is!
This diligent and bright student of mine managed to be the only one in her class to score an A* for English language. She is in the best class! Her overall score for English language for End-of-Year (SA2, 2017) is 93%, way ahead of the next highest mark at 89%.

IMPRESSIVE!!Congratulations!
She stands a high chance of getting "Best In English" for 2017!!
She has scored 92% for CA1, 88.4% for SA1 and 92% for SA1! :)
I am keeping my fingers crossed! :)

{Update 3 Jan 2018:
She received "BEST IN ENGLISH" for the 4th time for P5 (2017)! :)
Received this prize for P1, P2, P4 and P5.
We are gunning for P6!}

To shine and get that coveted A*, being able to write very well is a crucial factor. Usually, students can do well for Paper 2 (Booklets A and B), Paper 3 (Listening Comprehension) and Paper 4 (Oral). However, they flounder what it comes to Paper 1 (Situational Writing and Composition). Thus, it is of supreme importance to learn how to write well and to write frequently since good practice makes perfect! :)

FJXX's mother sent me a heartfelt testimonial on Sunday, 5 November 2017. I am exceedingly touched and grateful that my sincerity and good efforts are recognised. I will surely do my utmost for FJXX and all the students under my care.

I look forward to hearing more of such Fantastic News, which always makes my day so much brighter and happier!! :) :) :)

SA2 (2017) Stellar Improvement! Proud Moment for Parents and Teacher!

On Tuesday, 31 October 2017, I received this absolutely splendid news that LYJI has done extremely well for his SA2 (2017). He worked extremely hard prior to SA2. He did not fare too well in CA2. He missed the coveted Band One by just a little bit!!

This time round, he has shown great improvement in Oral, Listening Comprehension and Paper Two (Written Paper). His doting parents and I are exceedingly proud of his efforts and achievements!!

Unfortunately, due to the 'not-so-stellar' results for CA2, he did not manage to get Band One for 2017 Overall English mark.

Nevertheless, he is very close to 85% because he persevered and pushed himself harder this time round to achieve better results.

He has improved by leaps and bounds and his parents and I have acknowledged his excellent effort and performance.

We have encouraged him to keep on going!

(PS: Please note the teacher's comments highlighted with little stars! Really, the difference between an A and an A* or a Band Two and a Band One boils down to paying attention to details and concentrating on the lessons taught.)

Primary 5, here we come!! :) :)

Belated Post! 82/100 for English Language Primary 4 after a few months of tutelage! Yeah!

Belated Post! OC is now in P5 (2025).  Last year, she performed very well after a few short months of tutelage. P5 is a huge leap from P4 ...
